WRM-50
                   Water Proof Membrane

water-based modified acrylic compound
on drying
produces
high performance
water proof
elastomeric membrane.

The Mitico WRM-50 is a one-pack system
suitable for a wide range
of exterior and interior
water proofing applications.

Suitable for
roofs, balconies, decks, gutters, complex roof structures, window frames,
troughs, tanks, shower bases, ponds, underneath tiling in bathrooms and kitchens,
basement walls,
to name but a few.

Mitico WRM-50 cures to give a tough flexible water proof membrane
which will protect a variety of building surfaces.

Mitico WRM-50 adheres well to a wide range of substrates,
for example concrete, brick, galvanised iron, wood etc.

Exceeds
AS/NZS 4858:2004 standard for Wet area membranes,
Classification III (high extensibility).

Meets
material requirements for AS 3740:2004
Waterproofing of wet areas within residential buildings.

Coverage 1 square meter per litre WRM-50 @ 1 millimeter thickness

available in 4, 10 or 15 litre pails

amazing Product solves many water problems

Why use WRM-50 ?

Mitico WRM-50 membrane has good to excellent adhesion
to most building materials

This means the membrane wants to remain glued to substrate
 stays where you put it.
Mitico WRM-50’s
excellent classification of high extensibility
for standard
AS/NZS 4858:2004
combined with a cured
tough, robust, self healing, high flexibility and
excellent strain recovery membrane properties
means it can be applied where
water leakage may be a problem or a potential risk, for long term solution.

WRM-50 with  'wet' in situ application
allows an area to be sealed without joins or seams,
resulting in a continuous tough highly elastomeric
long life water proof film
with excellent durability.

The cured sheet of WRM-50 will stretch with the substrate
as its expands
eg. a metal roof
expands on a sunny day.

The protective WRM-50 coating
acts like a glove over the roof structure
constantly protecting the roof,
during a summer shower or a winter storm.
But as the winter nights draw in, and the
roof shrinks in colder temperatures the
coating also contracts

or like a pair of over sized gum boots somewhere its going to leak

failure of the system to move in harmony
would increase the risk of film delaminating.
The flexibility of WRM50 combined with its excellent adhesion
means the coating
moves with the substrate
as it repeats its daily cycle of expansion and contraction.

The elastomeric nature of the WRM-50 film
means it has a degree of self healing ability,
this helps it to deal
with its repeated daily cycle of expansion and contraction.

not bullet proof BUT will reduce the risk
of fatigue cracking, bubbling, blistering, micro cracking

This same property
applies to loading and unloading weight stress,
for example in a shower base.

We also see in its excellent test stress recovery profiles
the WRM-50 membrane recovers
after stretching,
pulls it self together like a released rubber band
returning to original size after stretching.

WRM-50 self healing film allows it
to handle the constant substrate movement.

This all helps to maximise the service life of the Mitico WRM-50.

Facts and figures.

Test conditions WRM-50 film aged 1 month, 1 mm thick, pulled @ 3.5 mm.min-1
Results dry film elongation
to break was 1530%,
a 2 cm strip stretched to 30.6 cm before breaking.

Film size recovery after breaking was measured at 88%.
Total film recovery occurred after applying 600% elongation,
2 cm stretched to 12 cm, once stress removed film returned to its original length of 2 cm.

if your house moves any where near WRM-50 performance limits you would be lot
more concerned about the other building materials/components.

Mitico WRM-50 has good exterior performance,
with its pigmented UV resistant film.

Low health and safety risks when using Mitico WRM-50,
a water-based very low VOC, low odour system.

VOC levels less than 10% of limit set by Environmental Choice New Zealand EC-12-92.
This value assumes mathematically all possible VOC material comes off in one instant,
otherwise if measured experimentally would rate as a ‘zero’ VOC product.

Mitico WRM-50L low viscosity, for large continuous areas
for example walls, application by brush or roller

Mitico WRM-50 Suitable for roofs, balconies, decks,
gutters, complex roof structures, troughs, tanks,

Mitico WRM-50T high viscosity, for specialist
applications, for example for grouting window frames.
